This manual is applicable to all horizontal and vertical prepaid hot and cold water meters with contact type (4442 card) or RF type (T5577 card).


Product Introduction

The QSS series card prepaid smart water meter complies with the national standard GB/T778.1-3-2007 and the industry standard CJ/J133-2007 factory inspection regulations, and follows JJG225-2009.


1. Working principle and composition

The IC card prepaid smart water meter is the latest high-tech electromechanical integrated smart water meter developed by our company. It is a highly intelligent instrument composed of advanced microcomputer control technology as the core and IC card technology as the information transmission medium. It integrates functions such as prepayment, automatic metering, status alarm, and prevention of improper use; It has the characteristics of accurate measurement, reliable performance, compact and reasonable structure, etc.

This instrument is based on a rotary water meter and is equipped with a new type of low-power and output torque meterLarge non pressure loss motor control valve, micro electricBrain controller. Adopting advanced logic encryption technology and implementing one meter, one card system ensures the security and reliability of user data. The use of this product has completely changed the traditional water usage mode, from "use water first, pay later" to "pay first, use water later", greatly facilitating the work of the community property management department and water resources management department.


2. Main features:

  • Prepaid function: Users can purchase water before use, and if they owe, the valve will be closed to stop the water supply.

  • One card function: One card can control the electricity meter, gas meter, and water meter.

  • Display synchronization function: LCD display and mechanical part display are synchronized, even if the circuit has a fault and the LCD cannot display, it can still refer to the mechanical display.

  • Alarm function: Battery undervoltage, insufficient available water, strong magnetic interference, and other fault information will prompt an alarm on the LCD screen.

  • Data upload function: Every time a user purchases water, relevant information will be brought back to the management system, allowing the management to understand the user's water usage status and the status of the meter.

  • Valve self maintenance function: The valve rotates at regular intervals to promptly remove valve scale and ensure valve flexibility.

  • Anti hoarding function: The software allows for flexible setting of recharge limits to prevent users from hoarding water.

  • Anti drip function: Combined with an anti drip water-based meter, it achieves anti drip function.

  • Blacklist query: Users who do not come to buy water for a long time can be blacklisted and their water usage will be monitored.

  • Convenient battery replacement: The bottom of the water meter has a specially designed cover for battery replacement, making battery replacement particularly convenient. Batch battery replacement is no longer a problem for water management departments.

  • The "water soaking" function: The product adopts an overall sealing and waterproof process in the process, so it can work in humid environments or short-term water soaking situations.

User operation instructions

1. LCD display instructions

The LCD display content is shown in the following figure:

The display capacity is five integers and one decimal, with eight different states displayed. The meaning is as follows:

2. This series of products comes in two types: single water price and tiered water price, subject to the actual product. The "yuan" on the panel represents a tiered water price meter, while the "m3" displayed represents a single water price meter. The LCD screen of a single water price meter usually displays "remaining amount" on one screen, while the LCD screen of a tiered water price displays five screens in rotation, namely "remaining amount", "cumulative", "year month day", "time", and "user number".


3. Water purchase process: Before purchasing water, set the parameters of the water meter (such as alarm water volume). The user holds an IC card (i.e. "user card") to the designated water sales department to recharge and purchase water, and then inserts the recharged IC card into the water meter (RF type needs to be placed in the card reading area) for recharging. When a beep sound is heard, it indicates that the water purchased by the user has been input into the water meter. After recharging, the water meter will display the working status and recharge amount. After the display is complete, the IC card will be taken away and kept properly for future water purchases. In the future, every time you purchase water, insert (swipe) it into the meter before recharging.


4. In the following situations, the water meter valve will close. Please follow the instructions below for handling:

(1) When the remaining water reaches the set alarm level, the screen displays "valve closed". Simply swipe the user card to open the valve and continue using water until the valve is fully closed. Suggest purchasing water as soon as possible after swiping the card.

(2) When the remaining water reaches the set amount (usually 0), the screen displays "valve closed". At this time, swiping the user card cannot open the valve again. Only by purchasing water again and swiping the card can the valve be opened.

(3) When the water meter is subjected to strong magnetic interference from the outside, the screen displays "abnormal" and "02", and the valve is closed. After the external interference is eliminated, the user card can be swiped to open the valve.

(4) When the water meter detects low voltage in the battery, the screen displays "power shortage" and the valve is closed. Please contact the management department in a timely manner and do not disassemble or assemble it without authorization.

(5) If the valve is closed for other reasons, please check the remaining water volume and swipe the user card once into the water meter to see if the valve can be opened. If it cannot be opened and the remaining water volume is greater than the closing amount, please contact the management department in a timely manner and do not disassemble or assemble it without authorization.


5. The water meter charges in real-time and settles regularly based on the water price set by the water sales department. After settlement, the current water consumption will be reset to zero, and the total water consumption will be accumulated in real-time.


6. The IC card water meter adopts a working mode of one meter and one card. IC cards can be used repeatedly and must be carried when purchasing water. If the IC card is lost or damaged, please apply for a replacement card from the water sales department.


Installation and usage instructions

1. When installing a new pipeline, it is necessary to wash away sand, silt, hemp fibers, and other debris inside the pipeline before installing the meter to avoid water meter malfunction.

2. The selection of water meter specifications should be based on the commonly used flow rate, and the diameter of the water meter cannot be determined solely by the diameter of the pipeline. Water meters should not be filled with corrosive liquids, and cold water meters are prohibited from being filled with hot water.

When installing the water meter, the direction of the arrow on the case must be consistent with the direction of water flow, and the installation of the horizontal water meter must be horizontal. The water flow direction of a vertical water meter must be from bottom to top. The installation location of the water meter should be able to avoid direct sunlight and be in a place that is easy to disassemble and observe. Insulation measures should be taken during the cold winter season.

When installing a water meter at the inlet of the boiler, a check valve must be installed to prevent hot water and steam from flowing back and damaging the water meter.

5. It is strictly prohibited to place any items above the water meter. Pay attention to moisture prevention, moisture proofing, and strictly prohibit water droplets from seeping into the water meter controller to damage the control system and affect the normal use of users.

6. When installing the water meter, pay attention to the connection length of the water meter. When the distance between the two ends of the pipeline exceeds the connection length of the water meter, the pipeline spacing should be corrected to meet the connection length of the water meter. Otherwise, if the spacing is too large and forcibly installed, it will cause the threaded end of the water meter connection to break or the pipe joint to break, as well as damage to the connecting nut; If the two end pipelines of the water meter are not on the same axis, other means should be used to correct the pipelines to be on the same axis to meet the installation size of the water meter.

7. For accurate measurement, the faucet should be higher than the water meter.

8. The water meter should not be directly connected to the pipeline. The water meter should be connected to the pipeline through a connecting pipe, sealing gasket, and connecting nut. When disassembling and assembling, do not forcefully pull it to avoid damaging the watch case.

When installing a water meter with water-saving cutting energy, it is necessary to use a matching special pipe joint at the inlet to reduce the phenomenon of water meter rotation caused by water pressure fluctuations.

10. If the water meter or its accessories are damaged due to failure to strictly follow the installation precautions, all losses shall be borne by the installer.


Maintenance of smart card meter

After long-term use, errors caused by debris blockage or component wear must be repaired before use. The lead seal on the water meter should not be activated by the user. If any abnormal phenomenon is found, the water company or property management company should be notified for maintenance.

After the installation and use of the card meter, regular inspections should be carried out to check the operation of the meter and whether the battery voltage is normal.

After several years of operation, if the display screen shows unclear data, it may be due to insufficient battery power, and the battery should be replaced immediately by specialized technicians.

If you find that the LCD (liquid crystal display screen) displays garbled characters or abnormal symbol signs, please contact the water sales department.

5. As a measuring instrument, the IC card water meter must be regularly calibrated according to national standards, and the battery must be replaced during calibration.
